Profile Information: Skills you can teach, skills you want to learn, bio, city, state, languages, availability, and learning preferences.
Location Data: We collect your approximate location to help match you with nearby skill partners. Location is updated in the background via significant location changes when you grant permission.
Messages: Chat messages you send and receive within the app are stored to provide the messaging feature.
User Content: Reviews, endorsements, and profile photos you submit.
Device Information: We collect your device's push notification token (FCM token) to deliver push notifications.
Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the app, such as features used and actions taken.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your account
Match you with other users based on skills and location
Enable messaging between users
Display your profile to other users
Send push notifications about messages, reviews, and endorsements
Improve and develop the app

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

Other Users: Your profile information (name, photo, skills, location, reviews, endorsements) is visible to other users of the app as part of the core functionality.
Service Providers: We use Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Storage, and Cloud Messaging) to operate the app. These services process data on our behalf.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile is soft-deleted and marked as inactive. You may contact us at contact@theloomlabs.com to request permanent deletion of your data.

5. Push Notifications

With your permission, we send push notifications for new chat messages, reviews, and endorsements. You can disable notifications at any time through your iPhone's Settings.

6. Location Data

We collect your location to show you nearby skill partners. Location access is controlled through your iPhone's Settings. You may revoke location permission at any time, though this will limit certain features of the app.

7. Children's Privacy

LoomLab is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including Firebase's built-in security features. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Withdraw consent for location or notifications at any time
